Can an image save the ocean? Where data, graphs, and words may fall short in reaching a global audience, images have the power to move people’s hearts regardless of their background. They allow us to feel a mother whale’s love for her calf on their first migratory journey together or witness the heartbreaking reality of a bleached coral reef. As our co-founder Mitty puts it, “Images lower the price of admission for people to join the world’s most important conversations.” While a photograph alone may not save the world, it can serve as a powerful catalyst for climate action and the protection of our planet’s most vulnerable ecosystems. The more voices we have advocating for nature, the brighter the future of our ocean. If you’re in the Chicago area tomorrow (Saturday) at printersrowfest, we hope you’ll stop by Center Stage at 2 pm to hear PaulNicklen and Mitty delve deeper into the power of photography.
