On #WorldStatisticsDay, a stat that might surprise you: In 1990, about 40% of children under the age of 5 experienced stunting—or when a child’s physical and mental growth is disrupted by malnutrition. In the past two decades, that number has decreased by more than 15%. However, progress has now stalled. It’s estimated that the rate of stunting will only decrease by another 1% by 2030. In order to get progress back on track, we need to double down on data-backed innovations that can improve health and nutrition for children. The good news is our partners are working hard to develop these innovations—like new dairy technology to boost milk production and consumption to treatments that improve women and children’s gut health.
