45-Minute Strength Circuit with my trainer bodyenroute - While I love to climb outside as often as I can, I’ve learned that (for me) to truly progress as a climber, a mix of climbing and strength training is key. I used to think more climbing was the answer, but now I know that building strength off the wall helps me become a more well-rounded athlete. I like to kick off my year with a strength training phase to rebuild my power on the wall. Endurance is typically my strength in climbing, but I’ve always wanted to be a well-rounded climber. Plus, when it comes to big wall climbing, success isn’t just about climbing — it’s about having the endurance and strength to manage the many non- climbing challenges that come with it, such as hauling, hiking, jugging, etc. Strength training has helped me progress both on and off the wall, and it’s essential for injury prevention.
