The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout… 🕷️ Book of Hate, 8b 📖 What a crazy climb; huge shout out to my surgeon, Dr. Omer Mei Dan - because I can’t believe I was able to come back and send this thing after double hip reconstruction surgery! One of the wilder climbs I’ve experienced… essentially 150’ of pure stemming up an otherwise blank and steep granite swoop. After a wild fall a couple weeks ago from the top of it, I took a break to focus more on my project on El Cap; taping my hand up and taking advantage of the weather windows where I could. Looking at the incoming storm to Yosemite, my trip was coming to a shortened ending. laraneumeier and I went down on a cloudy morning to try Book of Hate one last time; and it was so fun to both send it! I’m continuously inspired by the style of climbing that exists in Yosemite- the technical precision and otherworldly dynamics that it demands.
