We have been silently struggling through some really hard news that we found out two weeks ago. I brought moosechaga into the vet because I noticed a lump on his shoulder/neck area, and the vet tested it. It turned out it was a malignant mast cell tumor, which is a form of cancer.
Last week, he had surgery to remove it, which was a quite complicated procedure given its position on his neck. Thankfully, the vets at risevetboulder did an absolutely wonderful job and cared for him so considerately.
Following the procedure we had to wait for a week to find out the results of the biopsy for what stage it was at. Moose is the closest thing I have to a child and I spend more time with him than arguably anyone else. He is my best friend, so living in the unknown has been incredibly difficult and gut wrenching.
