Something powerful is rising from the sand: The Reddish Egret In partnership with the nationally recognized washedashoreart, Galveston Island is creating a permanent piece of public art built entirely from marine debris collected along our own shoreline. For the first time outside of Oregon, Washed Ashore is expanding its hands-on sculpture building process, with local artist Evan McClimans leading the way, empowering our Coastal Zone Management team and local volunteers to transform pollution into purpose.
