I first heard this audio by Bob Ross and immediately thought how well it paired with this painting. Reading more into the backstory, I learned that this was recorded when his wife passed. The weight and sorrow these words must’ve carried, and yet he still talked about light. This set represents beauty in brokenness. I first created the statue, with white on the left and black on the right. I then used the shape to create a painting that is its exact inverse, with black on the left and white on the right. I titled the set “Harmony” because each piece can stand alone, but together they create beautiful harmony.
