“TKS has been a fantastic platform to fully develop my potential” - Guido Putignano. This potential is now being recognized by the 2022 NOVA 111 Students List for the Most Influential Person in Healthcare & Bio Sciences Under 25 in Italy for Guido’s projects in Synthetic Biology. While at TKS, Guido was exposed to emerging technologies and sciences he may not have otherwise learned about. He gravitated towards Synthetic Biology and Quantum Computing, so he completed a TKS Focus in both areas. This led to building projects exploring how protein folding with Quantum Annealing could be used for drug discovery and how gene editing could solve common mutations in human DNA. He also plugged in to a global community of like-minded students and met his best friends. Since completing TKS, Guido’s dedication to the field of Synthetic Biology and networks he’s nurtured have earned him a spot in Harvard University’s Amgen Scholar Program.
