The last moonwalker. Apollo 17 lunar module "Challenger" departed the Moon with Harrison Schmitt and Gene Cernan, the last astronauts to walk on the Moon, today in 1972. These lunar overshoes were worn by Cernan when he made humanity's last steps on the Moon (for now) and are now on display at our DC location.
