If you’re planning a trip to San Diego - save this for your next trip. The Cave Store in La Jolla is a hidden gem with a rich history totally worth exploring. This man-made cave was carved out in the early 1900s and even served as a hideout for bootleggers during Prohibition, who used it to smuggle goods. Today, you can still walk down the 145 steps to explore Sunny Jim’s sea cave and take in the incredible coastal views. It’s a super affordable way to experience La Jolla’s history and natural beauty—all in one spot. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for kids. Tickets can be purchased directly at the Cave Store in La Jolla Cove. We arrived right at 9am when they opened and there was no line. The tour takes ~15-20 minutes including the walk up and down the stairs - the views were so worth it! 🌊 ☀️ thecavestore #lajolla #lajollacove #cavestore #sandiego #californiablogger #travelblogger
