I grew up in the future: Silicon Valley, California before it was the center of the world. The Valley in the 1980’s brimmed with optimism and dreams of changing the status quo, a place where engineers reigned supreme and open source was gospel…And there I was folding napkins in my family’s Chinese restaurant dreaming of the day I could escape to Hollywood to make movies like Steven Spielberg. Little did I know that these worlds would collide in the most spectacular disruption of what seemed like an indestructible industry and that I would indeed be discovered by Steven Spielberg himself. I lived through these earth-shattering changes first hand, have had a front row seat to history and am still feeling my way through it.
