Introducing our Artistic Director, Colleen Barnes colleenbarnes10 for our newest summer intensive: Joffrey Akron joffreyakron in Akron, Ohio! Joffrey Akron is a rigorous two-week multi-genre intensive which focuses on the study of technique across multiple genres. Dancers will have the opportunity to improve technique, artistry, versatility, and overall stamina in preparation for the fall dance season. Joffrey Akron Artistic Director, Colleen Barnes' is the Area Chair and Assistant Professor of Dance-Ballet at the University of Akron, where she has revitalized the Dance Program since 2021. She teaches various dance courses and choreographs regularly, collaborating with faculty artists. Colleen has been with the Joffrey Ballet School since 2009, serving as Artistic Director for multiple summer intensives and playing a key role in the BFA partnership between Joffrey and Akron.
