Irwindale is always one of the wildest events of the year. Everyone throws down as it’s the last race of the season and it usually ends with carnage. In Top 32 we got dragged into the lower bank and it destroyed our front end and damaged the rear. The team worked hard and got the car back together for Top 16 but the shock tower and steering rack had been pushed over some. We did not know if it would be 100% as we roll straight back into competition. Everything was looking and feeling great but when I went to slow the car down in the lower bank the car just rotated over its nose. Run 2… same thing. We later discovered that the car was not able to make the same amount of steering angle after the crash in Top32… All in all, the team did a great job with our car going all 8 rounds with no major mechanical failures, just a few interesting calls that set us back but certainly not due to a lack of effort from our crew.
