The endless sand dunes and turquoise rainwater pools that define the unique ecosystem of Lençóis Maranhenses, Brazil. Most of my photography focuses on close, intimate portraits of wildlife and their role in an ecosystem. Try as I might, I’ve never had much patience for the storied art of landscape photography. Every once in a while, however, I encounter a scene so breathtaking that I can’t help but explore it through my lens. The grand stage of planet Earth, shaped by tectonic forces, ancient seas, and powerful winds, can be just as captivating as its players.
