Day three of the social media whiteout. For years, I’ve used social media to share the beauty and fragility of nature with viewers across the globe. What started as a simple way to delve into the stories behind my shots gradually became a source of inspiration, community, and action for the future of our planet. I also love that I can learn from such a vibrant network of creators and share my experiences to help support other photographers working through the challenges inherent to the field. What I never signed up for was having this platform or other social media outlets used to train Ai so companies can quietly profit off of the hard work of artists. Technological progress should never come at the expense of human ingenuity and creativity, nor should it trample over the livelihoods of creators.
