☘️Did you know that St. Patrick's Day has Christian origins?✝️
St. Patrick's Day isn't just about wearing green, it's a celebration of faith in God! St. Patrick was born in Roman Britain but was kidnapped and enslaved in Ireland. After escaping to France, St. Patrick became a Christian. St. Patrick returned to Ireland as a missionary in 432, and tradition says that he confronted pagans about their beliefs which allowed Christianity to become more widespread. After his death, St. Patrick was named Ireland's patron saint; however, it wasn't until the Irish began moving to the US that St. Patrick's Day celebrations occurred to connect the Irish with their roots.
☘️Another fun fact: Tradition says that St. Patrick used the three-leaf clover to demonstrate the Trinity.
💚Maybe we can use this day to share the gospel with others! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
