Right along the Great Southern Reef, divers are fortunate to have easy access to a broad range of spectacular shore dives.
The kelp forests thriving in these waters support an incredible diversity of marine life. One such site is Waubs Bay near Bicheno in Tasmania, shown here in this video. Divers can explore this impressive reef, home to yellow zoanthids, boar fish, butterfly perch, and nudibranchs. Those with a keen eye may even spot a big-bellied seahorse or a weedy seadragon drifting among the fronds.
The ocean holds countless stories waiting to be told—if you’re a young creative, our Ocean Awareness Contest themed ‘Connections to Nature’ is open for submissions. Winners receive cash awards up to $1,000 USD in each category and recognition. Entry is free. Link in bio or visit ➡️
