Last week, we honored former First Lady Laura Bush with the 2025 American Park Experience (APEX) Award. This national award recognizes individuals or groups who have significantly enhanced the awareness and appreciation of our parks and public lands. For decades, Mrs. Bush has championed the protection of our country’s parks and the importance of providing environmental education to students. She inspires us to treasure and preserve these places for the enjoyment of current and future generations.
