Here are some helpful tips to create your own:
1. Gather Materials: You’ll need 3” eye hooks, 1/16th galvanized steel wire rope (about 150 ft for a medium-sized trellis), & basic tools like a drill, pliers, and wire cutters.
2. Plan Layout: Mark a rectangular area on your wall (e.g., 6’ tall x 8’ wide). Decide on a diamond pattern by spacing eye hooks evenly along the top, bottom, and sides.
3. Install Eye Hooks: Drill holes at your marked points, insert wall anchors, and screw in the eye hooks. For brick, use a masonry bit and anchors; tighten hooks with a drill bit for leverage.
4. String Wire: Start at one corner hook, thread the wire through, and secure it with a ferrule (crimp with pliers). Run the wire diagonally across to the opposite side, threading through hooks to form a diamond pattern. Pull tight, secure with ferrules at each hook, and repeat for the crisscross design.
