What’s happening in America is terrifying. Conversion therapy—a set of harmful practices disguised as “therapy”—continues to be forced on LGBTQ+ youth, even though it’s been rejected by every major medical and mental health organization. These practices, which falsely claim to change a person’s sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression, only lead to shame, depression, and self-hatred… or worse. It has to end. I’m proud to stand with Born Perfect, a program of the National Center for Lesbian Rights, fighting to protect LGBTQ+ youth from these abusive and damaging practices. Born Perfect has already helped pass conversion therapy bans in 22 states and 115+ cities. They empower survivors and advocate for real, lasting change.
