The varsity baseball team beat the Crockett Cougars by a score of 10-0 on Senior Knight, March 25 at Northwest Pony Field. The 10-0 victory was the result of a run rule after six innings.
The Knights started off with a strong first inning, scoring three runs off hits from sophomore Tommy McIntyre, junior Max Satterwhite, junior Gus Hernandez and a walk from senior CJ Willie.
Willie said the team did exceptionally well from the offensive side.
“We did a lot of damage at the plate,” he said. “That first inning did a lot for us, and we never looked back, we just kept doing our thing.”
Willie also gave his pitcher, Satterwhite, credit for getting the shutout.
“Max did a really good job of executing his pitches and hitting all his spots,” he said. “When we didn’t have great innings on offense, he did a great job of preventing any threats.”
Satterwhite pitched the whole game with 12 strikeouts and contributed a double on offense.
Willie acknowledged a weakness in the Knights’ defense....
