Paradise. That’s the only way to describe a game at Naples’ home turf. Palm trees lining the field, a glistening lake behind the main stand, and a breathtaking sunset if you’re lucky enough to catch an early evening game. Kids ran through the concourse, lovers watched tenderly from the slopes, and families got swept up in the excitement of it all. We finally understood why everyone calls this place a hidden gem. A few hours ahead of kickoff, many fans told us they were curious to see how many people would actually turn up for a midweek game. They haven’t had many of those yet—their first-ever match was just less than a month ago. By kickoff, though, over two thousand Floridians had flocked to the stands, eager to help their brand new team advance once more in this Open Cup. A true testament to how this club has managed to capture the imagination of a growingly multicultural, intergenarational community.
