Top of the week! As you know hip health is crucial in longevity and keeping a strong foundation as we grow through life.
These banded exercises target the muscles that aid in ranges of motions of the hips. (Flexion/extension, internal/external rotation, abduction/adduction)
Hip Muscles to Target:
Gluteal muscles:
These muscles (gluteus maximus, medius, and minimus) are responsible for hip extension, abduction, and external rotation.
Hip adductors:
These muscles (adductor longus, brevis, and magnus) are responsible for hip adduction (bringing the thigh towards the midline).
Hip flexors:
These muscles (iliopsoas and rectus femoris) are responsible for hip flexion (bringing the knee towards the chest).
Hip abductors:
These muscles (gluteus medius and minimus) are responsible for hip abduction (moving the thigh away from the midline
