WHY ITS IMPORTANT TO ISOLATE YOUR ADDUCTORS!
-
Let’s start here ⬇️
Some issues I notice:
- Adductors are grossly under trained and isolation work is missing in a lot of programs.
- When we have weak adductors we generally have poor lower body stability.
- The adductor muscles make up more than 20% of your upper leg muscles yet all the attention always goes to the quad and hamstrings.
Simple breakdown ⬇️:
Anatomy and Function of the Adductors
The adductor muscles are situated in the medial and posterior compartments of the upper leg. They start from the hip bone and attach to the femur. Their main functions include adducting the thigh (bringing it closer to the body’s midline) and internally rotating it at the hip joint. They also aid in hip extension and help stabilize the pelvis, working with the gluteal muscles and hamstrings.
Importance of Adductor Training ⬇️
Although adductors are secondary compared to larger muscle groups used in exercises like squats and deadlifts, tr...
