I’ve gone back and forth the last few days on what to say about George Floyd and the systemic racism that has deep roots in this once colony of Great Britain called America. It extends much further than police brutality and people who are overtly racist. It’s easy for the American society to hear the term systemic racism and immediately think you are calling them a racist. When, in fact, systematic racism has nothing to do with an individual being overtly racist, rather a system that has shaped and built its rules, laws, and corporate culture around racial divide and oppression. It has more to do with the everyday behaviors and thought processes of our peers, classmates, friends and co-workers.
