The project began in 2007, and since then TGIF has dispersed more than $5 million aiding small to larger scale programs, according to Kaitlyn Tran, TGIF referendum campaign manager. Under TGIF, various sustainability projects that are funded are aimed to address issues such as transportation, habitat restoration, education and water energy efficiency. Some of these include the Decolonizing Environmentalism DeCal and building energy efficient systems in buildings such as Bauer Wurster Hall, Tran said.
