The girls golf team played in the Just For Fun Scramble at Morris Williams on March 12, They dressed up in tiaras and leis as their theme. The varsity team shot a 68 to take second place. The JV team shot at 73, winning its division.
On the winning team was sophomore Marin Manning, who played in this tournament in preparation for district. Manning thought the tournament was fun and enjoyed playing with her friends.
“I think we all played the best we could,” Manning said. “Every hole one of us shot a really good shot. All of us shine in different ways, so together, that’s why we got a really good score.”
Another reason she played in this tournament was to get more practice in since she doesn’t get regular practice during the week. She felt this also helped get her in a good mindset for playing.
“[I just remember] if I play bad in a certain amount of holes to not give up,” Manning said. “What happened here is that for two holes we didn’t play our best and then we picked it back up.”...
