A dock floated down the swollen Kentucky River and crashed into the Capital Avenue bridge in Frankfort, Kentucky, on Sunday, breaking into pieces after passing through it. Four days of heavy rain deluged parts of the state and caused the Kentucky River to swell. Officials diverted traffic and turned off utilities to businesses in the city as the river was expected to crest above 49 feet Monday at a record-setting level, said Frankfort Mayor Layne Wilkerson.
