Dozens of coordinated protests against the Trump administration are happening across Oregon Saturday, including several in the Portland area. The “Hands Off!” demonstrations — which are happening across the country — come in response to the Trump administration firing thousands of federal employees, implementing sweeping tariffs and moving to roll back environmental regulations, among other issues. By 1:15 p.m., thousands of protesters gathered at the Japanese American Historical Plaza on Portland’s waterfront before they started marching south down Naito Parkway onto the Morrison Bridge. Police had closed the bridge on-ramp and are diverting traffic.
