This 1968 Marcos 1600 GT Competition Coupé is powered by a later Ford ‘crossflow’ engine—an enduring favorite in motorsport circles thanks to its simplicity and tuning potential. The reconditioned unit features twin 40 DCOE Weber carburettors and a four-branch tubular exhaust manifold. Originally acquired in 2008 by an enthusiast aiming to race with the HSCC, the Marcos saw limited competition at Snetterton and Oulton Park in 2009 before being stored. It was fully recommissioned in 2021 with overhauled and re-jetted carburettors, a renewed ignition system, and other key mechanical updates before being sold to its current owner in 2022.
