Is it wrong to write off friends on the “other side”? Our divisions often make us want to cut ties with people we see as immoral or harmful because of their vote. But as Charlamagne reminds us, we should consider how we’d feel if others treated us that way for our views. Even those we agree with politically can harshly judge us, and contempt can grow even amongst people on the same side. As Arthur Brooks says, “If you have contempt for ‘them,’ more and more people will become ‘them.’” We should remember the Golden Rule — treat others as we’d want to be treated — and think about how our actions either drive us apart or bring us closer together. It’s not always wrong to cut someone off, but it’s important to carefully consider when and why we do it. #Politics #Election #Trump #Harris #Republican #Democrat
