An image and quote from
#HarrietTubman were removed from a National Parks webpage about the Underground Railroad.

The webpage, which previously featured a quote from Tubman and a prominent photo of her, now no longer includes either. A look at the Wayback Machine, a website that archives past versions of sites, shows the changes. In addition to removing the quote and image, references to “enslaved” people and the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 have been taken down. The updated page now leads with stamps of various civil rights leaders and text highlighting “Black/White Cooperation,” starting with two paragraphs that emphasize “American ideals of liberty and freedom” without specifically mentioning slavery.
