The Society of Professional Journalists recognized members of The Rocky Mountain Collegian staff for excellence in collegiate journalism with Mark of Excellence awards at the 2025 SPJ Region 9 Conference in Denver Saturday, April 5. SPJ Region 9 encompasses Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming and Utah and presents the annual regional Mark of Excellence awards to honor the best in student journalism. This year, The Collegian received five MOE nods — two first place wins and three finalist marks. The two winners will advance to the national competition.
