The Charter is the founding document of the #UnitedNations, signed on 26 June 1945 in San Francisco. It came into force later that year, on 24 October, now recognized as #UNDay. For 80 years, the mission and work of the United Nations have been guided by the purposes and principles outlined in the Charter. The Charter’s Preamble highlights fundamental human rights, international peace and security, and a commitment to better living standards for all.
