Steelers NFL draft targets: Could Andrew Mukuba eventually replace Minkah Fitzpatrick?
Post-Gazette Steelers insider Christopher Carter breaks down Texas safety Andrew Mukuba and his potential fit as an NFL draft target for DC Teryl Austin's secondary. Mukuba’s production in 2024 boosted his profile, with five interceptions, six passes broken up, zero touchdowns allowed and an allowed passer rating of 12.1 when targeted. Throw in a decent combine showing, and he’s become a decent target that projects to be anywhere from a second- to third-round pick, despite smaller size. Another potential free safety option to replace Minkah Fitzpatrick in the long run but lacks good film on his tackling skills. If the Steelers see this as a priority, Mukuba’s best fit would be if he fell to their third-round pick. Chris compares his game to that of the Green Bay Packers' Javon Bullard.
