Tonight, thanks to @eastonfastpitch, I got to do something REALLY special for someone who REALLY deserved it. 2.5 months ago I had the crazy idea to ask Easton to create player-specific, ultra-custom catcher’s gear for the Easton-sponsored teams at the #WCWS. We met with senior, @delanieewisz’s family, talked to her friends & created MEANINGFUL & PERSONAL gear- our goal was to make her feel like a big-leaguer. I’ve never seen a cooler, more personal set of gear & Lanie’s emotional response made it one of my most favorite WCWS memories to date. To know Lanie is to love Lanie & my hope is that this gear helps her feel how I see her: a beautiful, confident, badass leader. This gear boasted so many personal elements- an exact replica of her sister @swiszzz’s scar, but we turned it into a cross. Her handwritten tattoo she has for her brother Hunter who’s now in heaven.
