Did you know that the Civic Holiday has different names across Ontario such as Simcoe Day and Joseph Brant Day? 🍁
In the mid-1850s, communities across Canada started having a holiday in early August. As the idea spread across Ontario, different cities started naming the day after founding members of the community. Other names for the holiday include George Hamilton Day in Hamilton, Founders' Day in Brantford, and Alexander Mackenzie Day in Sarnia. #CivicHoliday #CivicHolidayOntario
