As much as I love exploring a new destination, there’s something special about returning to a place again and again. Not just because it feels familiar, but also how it can remind you of past versions of yourself. I’ve been fortunate to come to Rome many times over the last 13 years & it has become a measuring stick of time and personal reflection: both of the changes and constants in my own life compared to previous years. Being somewhere that’s not home, (where routines and life admin clamour for my attention) helps me to slow down & really notice things: moments of growth, transformation, resilience, as well as the things that I’ve weathered and endured. For me, this contemplative headspace comes so naturally with travel… like an invitation for personal growth with each trip.
