If you know me, you know how much I adore unique antiques—especially ceramics. So this incredible spot in Amsterdam felt like striking gold! (The only challenge was figuring out how to get my finds home with just a carry-on!)
This hidden gem, Golden Bend, is located at Herengracht 510 in the city center and offers a treasure trove of ceramics and antiques. Exploring it requires a bit of navigation… here’s what you need to know:
1. Bring cash (as they don’t take card).
2. Avoid wearing wide leg jeans or bulky coats. Walkways are incredibly narrow here & it’s very easy to knock things over.
3. Go alone (or with one person at most). Again, it is very precarious navigating these tight corners with fragile items all around you- a group would make it even more overwhelming.
4. Don’t be in a rush. It takes time to take it all in and to carefully pick things up/ set them down. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy it!
I managed to squeeze a beautiful tea set & a fruit stand into my car...
