Today is the anniversary of Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Taye's passing into parinirvana.
Jamgon Kongtrul (1813–1899), along with Jamyang Kyentse Wangpo and Dechen Chogyur Lingpa, all depicted in this work, are the great founding figures of the 19th-century non-sectarian movement in Tibetan Buddhism. Kongtrul studied with the most prominent teachers of his time from various traditions and is most known for compiling this knowledge and experience into the "Five Treasuries." This work contains some of the finest recordings of the teachings of all the major Tibetan Buddhist traditions. Today he continues to have a vast impact on Tibetan Buddhist teachers and followers around the world.
