Shout out to WA State fellow Maya (from Lakewood) who testified before the Washington State House Labor & Workplace Standards Committee in favor of HB 1128, which would establish a child care workforce standards board in the state Maya put it best: "Our current system leaves workers isolated – when I worked at a program that served mostly Black, low-income families, I was surprised to learn how much better conditions were at programs in more affluent communities. This legislation would promote equity." We see you Maya – thank you for speaking up and making your voice heard! There's still time to leave a message with your local lawmaker in support of this and other meaningful legislation by dialing the legislative switchboard at (800) 562-6000 - multiple language options available. We aren't holding back this legislative session, folks. For information on our legislative priorities this session, visit the link in bio. #WALeg #BudgetingforBrighterFutures
