The moving text rests on The Star of David, speaking to the current wave of antisemitism in the United States. "Making this work was a way to express my respect for Jewish friends and their faith," says Wijesooriya. "It is not lost on me that the work will be shown within 20 minutes from the site that the Ku Klux Klan calls home.
