The devastating fires in Los Angeles have prompted the evacuation of thousands of residents, unfortunately, including some of our very own volunteers.
Canine Companions
#therapydog team Alannah and therapy dog Guava evacuated last Tuesday night to Riverside to take shelter while the fires began to spread. Although they spent many anxious moments together, their journey was also filled with unexpected smiles along the way.
"Guava was able to visit our students in the hotel in Anaheim where we sent all the students who were flying in from different countries. The students (and other people in the hotel!) were happy to see her. We still do not have power in our home, but we are living out of a dorm right now. She's been working in the dorms and welcoming kids back to the campus. A lot of kids are happy to see her and it's been great stimulation for her.
