Growing up and playing sports as much as I did, I learned very quickly that my greatest challenge on the playing field would not be figuring out how to keep my opponent off the scoreboard, but how to keep the sweat out of my hearing aids. As I only had one pair of hearing aids at a time growing up, (they are EXPENSIVE!) I did everything I could to make sure they kept on working. I tried wrapping my hearing aids in plastic wrap, wearing wristbands and headbands to catch the sweat, and an endless routine of using my shirt to wipe the sweat from behind my ears. . . Unfortunately, there were times when it was a losing battle and I would “sweat out” my hearing aids.
