#ProphetTheGermanPrince competed in his first agility trial this weekend. It was a UKI Cup series so the courses were far from “beginner” level. In addition the trial was on dirt something Prophet has never practiced on, so his first run ended up we attempted the weave poles SEVEN times…and didn’t once complete them (more on what I did to solve the mystery, but that’s for a later post). Although we didn’t get any clear rounds, there was a lot to be thrilled about. Perfect start lines, each and every run, his jumping improved with each run (it started off very shaky). And he cleared every wall and long jump. One of the growing pains I’ve had in training is convincing.Prophet the soft wall jumps and long jumps still need to be respected. I love the way he listened to my handling, I love the way he was able to turn and accelerate on that loose footing. Still lots to work on, especially on my part, getting used to running such a speedy dog again! But I’m having so much fun and a super happ...
