Elsa Robinson’s
#RhodyAbroad journey took her to
#Bali and
#Java, where she explored water resources, biodiversity, and geological activity as part of GEO/NRS 405G.
From surveying beach pollution and waste management to studying active volcanoes, temples, and rice paddies, Elsa gained hands-on experience with Indonesia’s environmental challenges. A particularly special moment of her trip was watching the sunrise from the top of Mt. Bromo (a volcano!)—on her birthday!
Even as a Pharm.D. major, Elsa found ways to connect this experience to her field, researching rabies in Bali’s free-roaming dogs for her final project. “This trip broadened my cultural understanding and gave me a new perspective on public health,” she shared.
