Wow. Where do I even begin about last night? I was pretty discouraged most of the day thinking the flare had missed or was super later. So, we spent most of the day paddle boarding around this incredible lake we found, and as I was getting a souvenir at the local store, I checked solar data one more time and wouldn't ya know it? The flare finally hit. But, most of the night the moon completely washed out the aurora to the eyes. Which sucked even more because I knew exactly what was going on behind the moon light. But, around 1130 a major solar eruption happened and pierced right through the moon light and we, along with the older couple who had wanted to see the Northern Lights their whole life and a bridal group began to cheer as huge pillars of light overtook our heads.
