Man, I feel for the folks of Texas. There is still an estimated 1.6 million residents without power from Hurricane Beryl as extreme heat sets into place. Unfortunately, its going to likely be many more days to come before all is restored. This video is of our escape from Surfside Beach, Texas of the miles of storm surge damage left behind on Highway 257 which will complicate efforts to restore power. It was surreal being around for hours and not seeing any sort of cleanup response enter the area and today, other chasers still report no utility crews in the area. It's like the state has failed their residents with lack of response and preparation. If things don't get moving soon, this heat could be fatal. #hurricaneberyl #Beryl #tropics #Hurricane #hurricaneseason #earth #stormchasing #journalism #journalist #Texas #texascoast #texascountry #TXwx #weather #storm #extremenature #heatwave #heat #climatechange #climatecrisis #disaster #naturaldisaster #2024 #historic
