If it's one thing Hurricane Beryl can teach us, it's that just because it's "only" a Category 1 does not mean it can't bring disastrous results. A strengthening Category 1 can often be more destructive than a weakening Cat 2 because when a hurricane is weakening, sustained winds are more isolated vs gusts.
