Growing up, especially the more I got into photography I read so many stories of the karington event and aurora images from the display in 2003. I've seen aurora displays dozens of times, but still nothing compared to legendary stories I've heard about from 03 with aurora being seen as far South as the Caribbean. I truly can't believe I got to live it again. I was screaming internally, but speechless on the outside as the skies unzipped and the corona of the aurora hovered over us like an angel. Gently flickering through the night before erupting into fast moving spirals like christmas lights as the power lines hummed in the background due to the shear intensity of the event. The best part though? I got to share this moment surrounded by my closest friends. In the last 1.5 months I've witnessed a solar eclipse, 30 tornadoes, and now a record setting aurora event. This year has truly been one to remember and I still can't believe it. What a time to be alive. #auroraborealis #aurora...
